doing good in the
Cederberg – and beyond
The Goed Foundation is built on a simple belief: the people of the Cederberg are at the heart of everything we do. They are farmers, caregivers, storytellers, and community builders with deep roots and remarkable resilience. Our role is to walk alongside them, support where we can, and help create opportunities that strengthen what already exists. That’s the Business of Kindness.
ABOUT US
our mission & objectives
The Goed Foundation was founded by Rob Templeton and a small, passionate team committed to supporting the communities of the Cederberg. From Wupperthal to Heuningvlei and the surrounding outstations, we believe meaningful impact starts with listening, learning, and building relationships.
OUR WORK
key focus areas
Here’s where we’re currently focusing our efforts and why these initiatives matter so deeply to the people who call the Cederberg home.
“onse spruitjies”
Every child deserves a strong start in life. We support local caregivers and early childhood centres with the resources and support they need to create safe, nurturing spaces where children can thrive.
small farmers initiative
Farming has been part of life in the Cederberg for generations. We work with local women farmers to strengthen sustainable farming practices, improve access to markets, and celebrate the value of their work.
emergency support
In times of crisis, community matters most. We respond quickly with practical support and continue walking alongside families as they recover and rebuild.
FEATURED PROJECT
cederberg community support
Life in the Cederberg outstations is shaped by heritage, resilience, and a strong sense of community. While these areas are remote, they are rich in culture, faith, and connection – qualities that continue to inspire the work we do together.

URGENT CAMPAIGN
Rebuild Wupperthal: Roads, Water & Homes
The Cederberg community of Wuppertal was devastated by flooding in May 2026. Roads that connect families to schools, clinics, and the outside world have been washed away. Water pipes are broken and exposed. Bridges are damaged. Families in the outstation communities are cut off.
The Goed Foundation team is already on the ground alongside André Mouton, ward councillor for the Cederberg, who has been working tirelessly to get support to these communities.
We are raising funds for the real, tangible things needed to rebuild: pipes, materials, and road infrastructure. This is not a vague donation, every rand has a purpose and you will see exactly where it goes. We will post regular updates with photos.
There is urgent need — but also an opportunity to come together in practical ways that make a real difference.
We’ve opened a BackaBuddy campaign to help fund the things this community urgently needs.
Please donate and share with people you know.
